Direct placement
Direct Placement, also known as direct hire or permanent placement, is a service offered by staffing agencies or recruiting firms where they assist client companies in finding and hiring full-time, permanent employees for specific positions. In this model, the staffing agency acts as a recruitment partner, and their primary objective is to identify and present qualified candidates who will be directly employed by the client company. Here’s how direct placement services work:
Client Company Needs: The client company identifies a need for a permanent employee to fill a specific job role or position. This could be due to growth, attrition, or other factors.
Engaging the Staffing Agency: The client company engages the services of a staffing agency to assist in the recruitment process for the permanent position.
Job Description and Requirements: The client provides the staffing agency with a detailed job description, including the qualifications, skills, and experience required for the position.
Candidate Search: The staffing agency actively searches for potential candidates, either within their existing database or by conducting external recruitment efforts such as job postings, candidate sourcing, and networking.
Screening and Evaluation: The staffing agency evaluates candidates by reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, checking references, and assessing their qualifications and fit for the client’s company culture.
Presentation of Candidates: The staffing agency presents a shortlist of qualified candidates to the client company. The client may interview these candidates to assess their suitability further.
Job Offer: When the client company identifies a candidate they wish to hire, they make a formal job offer directly to the candidate. This offer includes details about the position, salary, benefits, and other terms of employment.
Employment: Once the candidate accepts the job offer, they become a direct employee of the client company and are integrated into the company’s workforce.
Fee Payment: The client company pays a placement fee to the staffing agency for their recruitment services. This fee is typically based on a percentage of the employee’s first-year salary and is negotiated in advance.
